the nba injury gods are mocking me

This hit me like a ton of bricks.

BOSTON (Reuters) – Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett is unlikely to feature in the playoffs for the NBA champions because of a knee injury, coach Doc Rivers said on Thursday.

“He is not going to be ready (for Saturday’s playoff opener against the Chicago Bulls),” Rivers told Boston’s WEEI radio. “There is no way he can play.

“After going through all the rehab and looking so good last week … to where he’s at today, if he can’t get through biking and working out without swelling and stiffness, I just don’t know how he can play in the playoffs.”

I just don’t know what to think now. I really hate it that the national media, hell the nation, thinks the Celtics are done. The San Francisco Chronicle actually wrote:

The Cleveland Cavaliers just won the Eastern Conference title.

Say what?

Somebody please tell me it’s not going to be that clear cut. My stubborn streak is coming out and I refuse to go down without a fight. So dance to your Rick Astley, Cleveland, but it won’t be as easy as you think. As God is my witness, the north will rise again! *shaking fist at the sky*
